What Is This Site?

The AI Data Center Map is a comprehensive tracker of major AI data center projects being built or planned around the world. As artificial intelligence transforms every industry, the physical infrastructure powering these systems — massive data center campuses housing hundreds of thousands of GPUs — has become one of the most important stories in technology. This site aims to make that story visible and accessible.

We track over 50 major projects across 5 continents, representing more than $500 billion in planned investment and tens of gigawatts of computing capacity. From the Stargate initiative to sovereign AI clouds in the Middle East and Europe, we provide the most complete public picture of where AI compute is being built.

Methodology

Our data is collected through a combination of three methods:

AI-Powered Discovery

We use large language models to scan the latest news, press releases, and government filings for new data center announcements. Our AI identifies key details including capacity, investment, location, and timeline.

Manual Research

Our team reviews SEC filings, planning documents, energy commission records, and company earnings calls to verify and supplement AI-discovered data with authoritative primary sources.

Community Contributions

Industry professionals, data center operators, and local journalists contribute updates and corrections, helping us maintain accuracy across a rapidly evolving landscape.

Data Freshness

This tracker was last comprehensively updated in March 2026. Individual entries may have been updated more recently through our AI discovery system. The AI data center landscape moves extremely fast — projects can go from announcement to construction in weeks. We aim to capture all major projects (100 MW+) within days of their public announcement.
